The #1 thing to remember with a synthetic wig is never subject them to heat of any kind! (i.e.):
warm or hot water
blowdryers
curling irons
Also, care should be taken when opening a hot oven or while cooking. The average 'lifespan' is about 2 years (occasional wear) however, with proper care and maintenence, your synthetic hairpiece will last much longer.
Cleaning:
You will usually want to wash your wig after wearing it about 10 times.
Wet wig completely with cold or cool water for synthetics, luke warm for human hair.
If you do not have shampoo for synthetic wigs, a mild shampoo- such as baby shampoo- is fine. Work gently into your synthetic wig.
Rinse the shampoo out of your wig with cold water.
Blot your wig dry with a towel. Do not wring.
Once your wig has been towel dried, work in the conditioner of your choice.
Leave conditioner in for about 2 minutes, rinse conditioner out and gently towel dry.
Leave your wig on a wig stand to dry over-night at room temperature. You may use a blow dryer for human hair wigs.
DO NOT comb or brush your wig when it's wet- you will lose the style
Once dry, you can style your with water-soluble mousse and/or hairspray and finger-pick or brush gently-preferably with a wide-toothed comb.
